Constituted in 1917 and nicknamed the 'Indianhead' division, the 2nd Infantry Division fought in both World Wars, Korea, and later conflicts. Since the Korean War it has been forward-stationed in South Korea, and in 2015 it was reorganized as the 2nd Infantry Division-ROK/U.S. Combined Division, integrating Republic of Korea Army soldiers into its structure. Headquartered at Camp Humphreys, it is a subordinate division of Eighth Army under U.S. Forces Korea.
